Beginners Course

Bath Archers offers a complete beginners course in archery. The course will introduce you to the sport and teach you about the equipment and how to shoot safely. All tuition, coaching and equipment is included. After completing the course students are able to join the club fully and continue shooting if they choose.

Courses are mixed for adults and juniors which enables families to learn together. Our recommended minimum age for juniors is 12 years old, although we may consider younger children who have completed a Taster session first. Each junior (up to age 18) must be accompanied by a parent / guardian who must remain in attendance at all times. Maybe the parent / guardian might enjoy taking part too rather than just watching!

All courses are delivered by our Archery GB qualified coaching team and take place at our own peaceful grounds beside the river Avon.

The course consists of three consecutive mornings from 9am until 1pm. The course cost is £75 per person, payment and completed application is required to secure a place. After the course is completed, you will have successfully reached the required standard to shoot safely and proficiently. Students wishing to continue shooting after the course will be able to apply for club membership (at this or any other Archery GB affiliated club).

Once your membership application has been approved you will be allowed to use the club equipment for two months, and then you are expected to purchase your own kit. The club coaches will be happy to advise new members on purchasing equipment and, once obtained, can help you set it up and tune it.

If you're unsure whether a beginners course is for you, we recommend trying a Taster session for a shorter and more relaxed introduction to the sport.
